This was resolved last June, and the notice was left open.
VPN is again stable
The workaround from Cisco appears to be stable since 5:00 pm cst yesterday, with no drops since. We’ll leave the status open until the final fix is available and deployed, but we appear to be back in business.
Apologies for the downtime, and sincere thanks for everyone’s patience.

WE WILL BE REBOOTING THE VPN DEVICE AT 5:00pm CENTRAL TIME.
Good morning - Cisco has found where the bug was introduced into code, and given us a safe version of firmware that we can revert to. That will be taking place at 5:00pm today. While this is in progress, the entire appliance will be down; that means that the site to site connections from Houston and all of the other offices and dredges will be disconnected during the work period as well.
Typically these only take 5-10 minutes, but plan for as much as 30 to be safe.
The permanent fix will be included in the next firmware version as soon as that is released.
Thank you for your patience during this period. Hopefully this will be taken care of this evening, and the final fix applied during a period when you won't be affected.
Thanks, PJS
Continuing to work with Cisco support... Tried several suggested changes this evening, issue still occurring. Escalating ticket.
FYI and FWIW - VPN connects and remains connected for approximately 12-15 minutes. It is possible to connect briefly if needed. No other services are affected, so site-to-site connections from offices and dredges, as well as AVD and other cloud services remain online. All systems are accessible from an inside network (site to site / dredge wifi or corporate location).
Thank you for your patience while we work with the vendor to find and resolve this issue.
The AnyConnect VPN service on the firewall is restarting randomly, disconnecting sessions. GLDD IT and Netrix are working with Cisco Meraki support to resolve. Appears to be a bug; ticket is being escalated, and followed up on every few hours. We'll let you know when we have a solution. Thank you for your patience.
